Are you talking adhd meds? I haven't started on mine yet. However when they were prescribed I was told that acidic foods drinks will flush out the meds. So no coffee, OJ etc.
Also I am having pharmagenomic testing done. It shows you what meds your body will tolerate/metabolise best with best out come and least side affects. I am doing it through mydna.com which was recommended by my sons paediatrician.

I feel in the same way with ADHD meds... There is not a clear cut between med-taken days and not-med-taken days for me too 🙄🙄

Are they adhd-meds or anti-depressants? With adhd-meds, you should feel something pretty much right away, so maybe it's a matter of dosage? With antidepressants, it's a bit trickier, and there you don't feel any abrupt changes ,unless you suddenly stop taking them, (which I DO NOT RECOMMEND btw!! Seriously, don't do it!)

Try keeping a journal off how you feel etc each day and see if there are any patterns when you forget to take them etc
