for me it’s been such a nightmare to have both. I can’t take any adhd medicine because it’ll make my mania so much more worse, and bipolar will sort of go hand in hand with my adhd too, because I’ll become really productive (manic) to the extent I’ll set myself up for a depressive episode along with horrible executive dysfunction because I’ll do way too much to the extent I can’t even do anything for a whole week after that. Anyone else going through something similar?

Hey, obvi talk to your doctor, but you might be able to take guanfacine. It is an alpha 2 agonist, meaning that it is sedating, not activating and so shouldn’t activate your mania. It’s a kid adhd med, but it seems to work in adults. Also strattera is an option, but that still has a real risk of mania because it is a seratonin modulator.

I do. I'm really fortunate tho that my mania isnt too extreme, the doctors will still prescribe a stimulant, but are really stingy with the doses. But even with the meds, I still experience what you are sharing. Yesterday I got only like 3 hours sleep, but was more productive that I have been in MONTHS, easily. Now I'm back to having trouble even taking a shower...
