I’ve recently been diagnosed with adhd and I’m struggling to get my head around it and process it, did anyone else also struggle to process what had happened ?

I was diagnosed at 7 with ADD and so I grew up with it but the way it was managed was not well now that I'm looking back. And it's made me feel bad about myself. My mother, after anytime I did something "annoying" she would ask me if I took my medicine, like that would fix it. It made me depressed over my teenage years and I lost out on a lot of things I think because of it. I would suggest a coach or therapist that works woth someone woth ADHD to help kind of manage so you can try to figure out how. I read a book called "how to keep house while drowning" my k.c. Davis and it got me into my ADHD discovery era the past 6 months almost

I had read up on it and knew long before I got diagnosed, but the first time a doctor brought it up (2022), I was really caught off guard. It took a while to get to grips with it, but I eventually came to embrace it, and accept it as part of me. For me it helped me reading about it and learning what it meant (I want to understand everything).

Hey! Welcome to adhd-land! I’ve always known I had adhd, so no big chock here, but first some sadness that so much had been tough because of it.

Can you tell us a little bit more of your story ? Maybe we can help you better if we know what has happened to you! If you want to ☺️
