I was going to title these feeling shitty but that’s not entirely true. I’ve been a sailboat in the wind drift or raging in whatever direction my feelings and energy combine to form. I have been doing some fundraising work. Not very many calls. Maybe one or two? There have been periods this week of procrastination and coming up with other things to do or drawing out errands and things, or sleeping. Meanwhile the crew on the movie works over on set for 12+ hours a day! Granted, I raised the money to pay them and bring this all together and I am the boss but I feel 100% confident that there are bosses out there who work A LOT harder than I do.
So I’m feeling guilty, stressed about finding the money, lethargic, creating confusion in my mind of what the next thing I should be doing is, when I know exactly what the priority is.
The shoot has been running late and I drive the actress home at night so nights have gone from 10p to 11 to midnight and beyond. Which leads to waking up later which leads to poor morning routine attendance, etc.
I’m just having a hard time not accepting where I’m at, knowing and feeling like I could do better.
How much better? I don’t know. Is there a threshold where I’m like, yes, I did what I should have done and I feel great.
I guess that would be wake up early, walk dog, do my morning routine, which involves exercise (even a little), then spend 12 hours on set with the crew - working on emails and fundraising and other priorities, and then go home.
Doesn’t seem unreasonable. But even if I do get a “perfect” morning, I get to set and after about 3 hours I’m want to leave or go sleep or even go elsewhere to work, etc.
All that and zero yoga (other than my own stretching at home) since before July 4. Not helping.
Feels better just to write this. I’ll keep trying. I’ll try and lower the bar. But honestly, why do I have to lower it? Why am I so dysfunctional that I have to have a pathetic bar?!

💯 Relatable

You will persevere.
You will accomplish great things.
You ARE doing great.

Keep that on a sticky note for yourself. I know I’m going to. #selfmotivationalspeaker lol
