I have a huge desire to take college classes but can not make myself sit to study on a regular basis for anything. It feels like I start, do it for a week or two and then just lose interest and don't get back to it until it's over.

This is a classic! Make things challenging! I don’t know what your topic is but I can suggest somethings that helped me. Find an app or anything with tests at first you will likely to be overwhelmed so try to find something short like 10 questions max! And see what you did in that. Then go over your mistakes go to wiki watch YouTube videos that are short get lost in the subject and make it fun! As soon as you don’t want to do it leave it! So you never create a negative emotion about studying. When you think of something about the subject go impulsively to search about it on google. Think it as ‘curiosity kick’ ! Activate the hyperfocus you can even go like 5 hours without realizing if you start enjoying and engaging with it! But forget the way of studying they thought you it won’t work for us! Ask questions to yourself ask why! Then go search for the why!

This but as soon as I get a test... I'm blank. I can't do a test. Ask me for an Essay or a multimedia project I'm all over it. I'm amazing in high pressure situations, except for written pen to paper tests. I just can not.

I would love to take classes… or some sort of training for a decent job but my stupid brain just can’t function properly! I feel so stupid and ashamed all the time because I know I can’t make something more of myself and I’m now 45 trying to help my 16 year old daughter through her ADHD but I’m still struggling and I can’t tell her anything helpful to get through school because I never found anything helpful myself. I can read and reread things and still not grasp what I was reading. I can’t follow directions well especially the first time I’m told. I don’t have the ability to stick to schedules either and the sad part is that I’m medicated!

Well, I can’t even open my computer (where my notes are) it has gotten so bad I have an exam in like 2hs and I will have to make an excuse to see if they can reschedule my exam 🥲
