I don't know how to define an unhealthy person and I don't know how to recognize when someone is unhealthy for me especially... I've experienced too many problems with manipulation, emotional harassment (and a lot of street harassment too, but oh well...), etc.
I find it hard to tell myself that these people are bad and that I should distance myself from them as quickly as possible... in fact, it's the opposite: I get closer to them and distance myself from good people... I find excuses to innocent them...
Can you help me find the "clues" that allow you to say that someone is toxic for you??

Here’s the tool I was talking about ; if you enter it into Google translate, I’m pretty sure it will help the non-French speaking members.

Thank you very much, that's awesome!!! 😍🥰🫶🏼
I see that half of the people around me are really toxic… I'd even say the majority…

Hello Elora, there's a very simple (but often effective) thing called the 'harcèlomètre': it's to help you objectively analyze the quality of your friendships, with a short descriptive phrase associated with a color; it goes from green to red, passing through yellow and orange. If you type 'harcèlomètre' into your search bar, you should find plenty of examples. I hope this can help you see things more clearly and distance yourself from toxic people...

It can be really helpful to meet a genuinely caring and kind friend or partner and use that as your standard. Then it becomes easier to notice when someone is mistreating you.

I also have trouble figuring out who toxic people are. A tip I’ve found helpful is to observe how others react to them. If most people(people that I really trust) seem uncomfortable or keep their distance, I take that as a cue to be cautious.

And I just don’t feel good after hanging out with toxic people. That’s how I know not to waste my time on them.

If someone makes you uncomfortable or think less of yourself in any way that’s usually the sign to run as fast as you can

But if the person manipulates us and emotionally blackmails us, and I, who doesn't know how to understand my emotions, don't realize that what she's doing is a problem, is there anything in their eyes, their features, their tones used, that would make you suspicious??
