# Reunion with dysfunctional in-laws

Traveled to meet in-laws I’ve had issues with (words, accusations, and physical altercations). It was kind of different as I’ve always felt weird after those issues, and  now I know about adhd. But I talked to them, sometimes I just looked elsewhere and sometimes I ignored what they said( they’d get buzzed/drunk and be exact opposite and make extra eye contact). But it is definitely a learning experience. Basically what I learned was it’s ok to just look away and focus elsewhere. And it’s real life practice for my professional life to try and make small talk with people I have nothing in common with…Now thinking of how to let my daughter know I don’t condone of a lot of things they recently did in front of us tactfully, in front of the wife.
