Why is it so hard as a woman with ADHD symptoms to be taken seriously by doctors and therapists?

3 lata temuGo to a doctor and therapist that is trained in mental health. One that is trained specifically in ADHD is even better. A mental health expert is equipped to WORK WITH YOU not only in diagnoses, but also in determining which meds may be best for you and open to trying something a different med if you feel it isn’t working or is making you ill. My therapist also has ADHD, although hers is better controlled than mine. She understands me!

3 lata temuYou probably need different therapist. I didn't get diagnosed by my doctor, he said I was "mildly depress" it wasn't until I put my foot down and was assertive with my therapist that I got them to take me seriously.
