Why is everything so tiring?

I know I stay awake all night, and sometimes for days at a time, but even when I get to sleep for a few hours, it feels like i haven’t slept at all. One time I slept for 6 hours, after staying awake until 5. (I usually am awake until 10-11 in the morning.) and I hadn’t felt any more rested. In fact I was more tired than I was just staying awake through the next day.

And the feeling more tired after sleeping is due to your brain switching off survival mode because it got some sleep and isn’t completely flooded with stress hormones

I used to go to sleep quite late for my age on school days, now I have the rule: be in bed by 9 p.m. and listen to a meditation on sleeptimer (my phone is in another room and I listen via bluetooth speaker) so like others said: make a ritual and hard deadlines for going to bed and don’t do anything but sleep there, no phone, book etc. just you and the darkness (and the meditation to keep your brain quiet)

Well... I mean, I get the impression that you know the answer? Yep, it's the sleeping schedule. Get some quality sleep, dude! You deserve it!

Totally get it. I have been through exactly the same, and I told my loved ones exactly the same thing you write here. But you’ll see, it will get better when you DO have a real sleep schedule : you’ll find time for your obligations AND your personal pursuits, without endangering your health, because your energy will be so much better, and you’ll be able to prioritize correctly too. The problem is being able to transition from your way of life to this new one : I get it, it’s hard. Basically, I think I just told myself : « Whatever ! Things are done/finished or not : it doesn’t matter, what does is my health », so I decided to focus (reaaaaally focus, as in « this-is-life-or-death-priority » focus) on my wake-up and go-to-sleep routines. Then, things kind of sorted themselves out, one by one. But I must say : I only did this after starting my medication. Hope this helps…

I mean yea, that would help a lot, but it’s hard to do when I’ve gotta do things at night and during the day A lot of personal stuff I don’t get to do until late at night. So I’m sort of at a point where I either keep like this, or sacrifice all of my personal time just to sleep enough to do things for people around me during the day😭 it also doesn’t help that at my job, I’m a closer, so I’m there until 2:30 in the morning anyway
