Midnight wonders

Spent the day helping my friend finish her study project instead of doing my own tasks... Is this called being a good friend or just procrastination

Yeah, not really mutually exclusive, IMO. Personally, I have a tendency to prioritize helping others over focusing on myself. For me, it's a distraction technique and not always a "good thing." It becomes an easy way to postpone and avoid uncomfortable tasks, at least for me, so I try to remember that; "to help others, you must first create a stable foundation for yourself." It's like being on a plane or boat; they tell you that if an emergency happens, put on your own life vest before helping others. But it's hard :) and I get that

I do that a lot too. I think it’s cuz u wanna be a good friend but also it’s kinda easier 2 help other ppl than urself 😅. One time I even helped my friend clean his room coz he hadn’t done it and his dad would get mad if it wasn’t done before dinner. We made it in time but then I got home late and my dad scolded me for being late AND for not doing my chores at home 🤦🤣.

I think that ultimately depends upon your motivation to do it. If you helped mostly just to get out of doing your own tasks, it’s probably procrastination. If you helped because you knew your friend needed you, and you showed up, no matter what, then it’s definitely being a good friend 🍀
