Has anyone had issues travelling to Thailand with Adderall?

I’m travelling to Thailand for the first time and I was looking into whether or not it’s okay for me to bring all of my medications (2 of them are considered controlled substances). I’ve read that you cannot bring adderall whatsoever, as they do not see it as a pharmaceutical drug. There are a few other types of adhd medications that are allowed, but I’ve tried them all and they haven’t been helpful or have had adverse effects. I don’t want to be in adderall withdrawal during my trip! Should I wing it and hope they don’t get confiscated or should I find a temporary substitute that might help at least somewhat? Non-adderall travelling is going to suck, especially for my travel buddy 😂

Even within the European Union where borders are open I as an EU citizen need my psychiatrist to fill an official form with my meds prescription details (dose, ingredients etc.) and then I must have this form stamped at the health department before my meds can travel to another EU country like for example Italy. So I wouldn’t even think about NOT taking the regulations for meds on the “drug” list seriously … especially concerning countries that are well known for their rigid regulations on drug use and punishment.

With drugs like adderall its not about the drug being confiscated, it’s about you going to jail. And depending on the country, you might extend your trip for a very long time with a drug offence. Reach out to your countrys embassy in Thailand. They will be able to tell you if there is a legal way to bring them, or not.

I just heard on Saturday at a practice that there was huge trouble because of medication in a travel country - it wasn't Thailand, and the practice had no follow-up, but they strongly advise against traveling with meds without clarification, so yes: asking the embassy is highly recommended!

Yes I did read the legal repercussions, I wasn’t sure how heavily enforced they are if I have a letter from my doctor. I guess finding a substitute will be my best bet, I’ll definitely give the embassy a call though!

I’m trying to figure that out, my doctor said he could write a letter along with my prescription, but seems it might be restricted regardless :/
