It’s fluorescent light now but when I was a kid I would get almost emotional when I’d see ppl with long hair put a shirt on immediately after swimming and their hair would make the back of the shirt wet and they all seemed fine with it???!!! and I could never go on water rides at amusement parks without a change of clothes ready

I don’t know. I see that that sensory processing is a sign of ADHD. As an older female, my skin now is thin, dry, and more sensitive to itchy items: clothing tags. Many synthetic fabrics and hard plastic-type threads are used to sew seams & clothing tags. And my cheaper clothing uses cheaper materials rather than cotton. Cheaper fabrics also seem to melt a bit & form little prickly fibers and bonds that poke the skin and itch.

Sunlight makes me sneeze at times.

this is actually due to your optic nerve being close to your sneezing nerves and it’s actually quite interesting and it’s a quite rare occurrence but i think it’s more common in neurodivergent people because i’ve met more neurodivergent people who have it than neurotypical people

I absolutely cannot stand the feeling of wet clothes. I live in a rainy city, so this is kinda a problem. I sometimes don’t leave the house when it rains a lot and even cancel meetings with friends or stuff because I know, getting there the only thing i think about is my wet jeans, hair, the wet jacket I need to put on later…… at home, when my clothes get wet accidentally, i change immediately 😂

A toothbrush that is somehow a little bit dry against the teeth. It makes me want to crawl out of my own skin. 🥶 a daily struggle…

I cannot physically do dishes like just the feeling of like oh my God no I just can’t sorry so my parents have been very helpful with that because I got diagnosed with ADHD when I was about nine or 10 and I’m 12 now so they let me unload the dishwasher for my chore instead of loading it so I don’t have to touch the dishes which is very helpful. I also have other issues that the main one. (:

Loud, abrupt bangs (not guns/fireworks)

I have “a few”….. 😅 • Lights that are not natural. Hate both “warm” and “cold” lightbulbs. I have to search explicitly for those with natural light (those look just like daylight) • I can’t cope with too many people speaking at once. If music is added to it then I’m screwed… • I hate getting my fingers or hands icky… doing the dishes is a real struggle for me 🫠 • Dry microfibre cloths 🤢 they stick to my fingers in the most nerve wrecking way. • Textures of food. Especially dry textures that aren’t crunchy - such as canned tuna, boiled potatoes, dry rise, dry bread, overcooked peas, beans, overcooked fish or meats…. However any of these can be edible with a generous amount of sauce. • Intense smells. Overdosed perfumes. Mold. Cigarette smoke. Strong smell of sweat. Unventilated spaces as warm closed cars, old wood cabins, sometimes bedrooms.

Fluorescent lights is #1. I only use lamps in my apartment with warm lighting or I start getting agitated. Also food textures like peas and blueberries. I’ve gotten sick from both.
