After talking with a guy for about one week we decided to go on a date. The conversation was very boring and my brain just decided to think of something else. Things got tense when the guy started checking if I was paying attention. I failed answering any question he made about what he just said. Finally he got so upset and asked me : What is my name?? And I could not answer that. He left completely mad.

I really understand you. Sometimes I can only pay attention to the thoughts in my mind instead of listen to the person who is talking to me. In this case, when I notice this, I try to explain to the person that I don’t have a resources for an active conversation now

Maybe he shouldn't have been so boring. You have a higher-functioning thinking process, so he shoulda stepped up his game!!
I think this adhd trait is sometimes problematic, but also an asset: you literally can’t spend time on boring & timeconsuming stories and people
