How do you handle job hunting?

The Question: What were your strategies, helpers and hacks that helped you overcome the fear of job application writing & interviews? The Story: I am no longer happy at my current job. Or wait - let's rephrase this: I have never been happy with my current job, but it has been paying the bills. It has never been good for my mental health. On the bright side: the heavy depression phase due to work conditions DID send me to hospital earlier this year resulted in me being finally diagnosed with ADHD. Since then and with new medication I have finally begun improving after two decades of more-or-less-intense depression. On the dark side: I now feel that I deserve better than a paranoid, drama queen boss with unrealistic goals and no chances for a raise or promotion. Cue: The job hunting terror! Although I'm in a rather comfortable position with a running, permanent employment contract, I'm still terrified of all aspects of job search. Remorse, imposter syndrome, sheer fear, all kicking in at the same time. Any number of you are also suffering from this effect. Many of you have done it despite the terror and managed to stay a functioning person during "hunting season".

Thanks for your story and great questions! I have an answer that might help. Pick the biggest dtream places you want to work at and right super honest and authenticly why you love it there and much value you can bring through your passion. I guarantee you that you'll have more fun writing them and you'll more likely to stand out. And remember: we are all going to day. Don't waste time worrying about the details of work or the opinion that others. Be who you truly are and you're getting what you truly need. ✨
