Currently Frozen

So I have a ton of things I need to get done this weekend. I’m currently sitting on my lounge chair in my bedroom. Thinking. Scrolling. Zoning out. Having mini anxiety attacks (a minute or two max) because I’m not doing anything and then still not doing anything once the tiny attack is over. I NEED to get up and go pick up the things from my mother’s house. I’ve already paid for them so it’s not like it cost me anything. It will make my house nicer. She lives 5 MINUTES AWAY! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ There is truly ZERO negatives that will come from doing this thing. WHY AM I STILL IN MY CHAIR?!? 🤦🏼‍♀️

My technique when I’m frozen is to play one of my latest hyperfixation songs and wait until THAT rhythm hits to stand up. I don’t think about the task, I just program myself to stand up at a specific moment of the song. Once I’m stand, I just have to think what I could do now that I’m stand.

I like to pick a small step, like picking up my keys, but frame it as part of the finished task. I am getting my keys, but what I am saying to myself is, “I am getting the things from my mom’s house.” Next step, I need to find my shoes. Okay, I’m looking for the shoes because what J am doing is going to my mom’s. It makes it less overwhelming for me and I feel like all the same tasks aren’t like treading water.

I feel this on a spiritual level.
