To wake up early leave your phone away and add a reward

I discovered that temperature was a significant obstacle for me. The cold paralyzes me, making it hard getting up early. To address this as a phone addict, I leave my phone in the bathroom at night and I've programmed the bathroom heater for a high temperature to make it comfortable for me, even more pleasant than going back to bed. My reward is retrieving my phone and using it in a warm and pleasant environment. You can leave your phone near the coffee machine and treat yourself to a coffee as a reward. You need to find a reward that works for you, something better than staying warm in bed. I hope that helps you. 😉

I have to find a similar solution, because I usually stop the alarm on my phone (the phone is on my desk....then going to my comfy bed again like it was nothing 🤣). Or I wake up and...just doom scrolling...🫩. My first step is to buy a new alarm clock with more gentle sounds....

That is genius! It would totally put an end to doomscrolling into slumber instead of actually just going to sleep like the pre-phone days 😂

Cold makes it SO hard to get out of bed!! I keep a pullover hoodie right at the foot of the bed, in front of a heat vent so it's snuggly and warm. I get up and pull that and my slippers on 🥰

I’ve been locking my phone down two different ways. It complexes me to have to remember where I have to go for each. So I just say f**k it, and put it away. And go back to what I was intending to do. Which is hand method notes, less distractions. And then I can move onto the rest of getting ready faster. I have where my phone locks down at 8:30, and the other one at 10. So that I have different accesses to different parts. But once the 10 goes on, phone goes away, and it’s time for be to start getting ready for bed if I haven’t yet. That’s the BIG indicator to say, bedtime Sam! Get you @$$ Moving!!! I STILL can’t go to sleep before midnight. But at least I’m not distracted by my phone. I’m reading, and it’s quiet time.

I experience the exact same issue with the cold. I’ve tried so many different things, and so far the most successful is to simply drink a LOT of water at night, so then I have to get up as soon as my eyes open

This is genius but, I listen to a podcast as I fall asleep at night so I need my phone near me to distract my mind 😂
