ChatGPT is the greatest life hack, for ADHD

I find it extremely helpful for getting any kind of task started, and therefor done as the hardest thing for my ADHD is the starting it! That said I would love to learn more about how / if others are using it on here..

I’m still trying to understand ChatGPT. Can anyone point me in the direction of an instructional vid or something? Not knowing how to use it right stresses me out.

I love ChatGPT! I have a prompt that I worked on for a while that tells the AI to be my personal friend and assistant. There is a Chrome web extension that lets you speak to it and then it returns speech in a voice of your choosing. So everyday i get on my computer I just talk to my laptop and it talks back. Helps me knock out my emails and even offers safe advice if I’m feeling kinda down or stuck. It’s a tool just like anything it’s how you use it. Just make sure it benefits you

There are a lot of false positives from generative AI models like GPT4 (that chatgpt uses). It's also called "hallucinations", and is a product of how the model is created and how it resolves questions. Something to be aware of.

Be careful with it! I agree that it can be a powerful tool, and I plan on using it more as well. So it’s a good tip 😊 Just remember that if you ask it for information, there’s no guarantee that the answer will be the truth!

chatgpt takes off a lot of work tasks that involve no dopamin reward or satisfaction of any kind and lets me focus on other tasks that do more and more often

Confirming chatGPT has been life changing. Has helped me cut down on hours of reading dead end web articles etc. The more specific you can be the better. Egs: give a word limit, ask it to expand on any points you don't fully understand with examples. 'I have to do a,b,c,d. Prioritise these and explain your reasoning in under 100 words.' 'How would you teach someone with ADHD to prioritise'. 'Compare maple vs acacia chopping boards'.

How do you use it to get started on a task. I've downloaded it but I don't see how it's going to help me get off the couch and doing the laundry. Getting started is the hardest part.

What is it? Is it available for Android? I've looked and can't find it.

I work in research, so before tackling a topic or a book I ask it to summarize the main themes of a book, or what is typically said on the web about Question X-Y-Z, sometimes how he would proceed about a research problem, and then I ask him about the sources it found. I track them down and I validate the content.

I use it to vent my problems but it usually recommends me to see a therapist which I am. You should try to put it in developer mode which unleashes the rules it has to follow. I often find this more helpful as it can act as a sort of life coach with me. Let me know if you want to know how to do this. Sometimes it does struggle and you have to remind it that it is in developer mode but why not give it a go. I’ll never go back to original mode ❤️

Here’s a link that has links to other articles for kids and academia. It’s the best starting tutorial though. 5/5⭐️ http://bit.ly/chat-gpt-for-adhd

My hacks are general. Sorry if this is old news. I always start with super high level context. Tell it the role I want it to play (expert organizer), what I want (a brief bullet point list), and then the challenge. “I want you to act as an expert organizer and experienced camper. Can you give me a bullet point list of what I’d want to pack for a weekend camping trip?”

I literally the other day was like I’m really overwhelmed right now. What should I do and it made me a step-by-step list lol You can literally get it to do anything in terms of organizing a task or a project and you know sometimes that’s the hardest bit, so really ask you anything !
