Moved and overwhelmed

I justed moved into my house. I live alone with my 2 cats. I have boxes EVERYWHERE! I don't know where to start and by the time I get home from work I'm so tired I don't have the mental capacity to figure it out. Any tips?

Ugh I feel for you, it takes me months to unpack any time I move but I'm getting better. One thing that is finally really helping me is making sure I have enough storage in my place. Whether it's bins or shelves. Do I have a good place to keep the towels? Where do I put my tools? My art supplies? Planning this out and buying any extra storage things I need have helped a lot. You can usually find some for cheap on fb marketplace and smaller tabletop bins on temu or Amazon

In all this give yourself grace. We don't operate the same as others.

You can also try the “a little bit at a time” method. Instead of doing everything at once just do, at the very least, one thing and save the rest for the following days after.

One thing you can do is use personal time off the day right before your weekend or after. This way you will have 3 days for that weekend instead of two. The first day will be deducted to resting, then the other two days will be dedicated to cleaning up.

You can join a body double group on Facebook. I need to follow my own advice

As awful as it feels invite a friend over. Either a close one you can invite into your mess to body double as you get it done or a not as close one a week or so out so you have a deadline of presentability. I just moved this past January and I feel you in the overwhelm!
