My boyfriend seems to have an undiagnosed (doesn’t want to be diagnosed) ADHD. On one hand, he is the person who would understand me the most and vice versa. But on the other hand, life probably can not be any more fun(aka. mess) than this! 🤣😂🥲🥹 am I right?

I am married for a year now with my husband who also has ADHD. You’re totally right when saying life couldn’t be more fun😊 andd yes, also more messy.😌 But! it turns out it is less chaotic than I expected when we we’re dating. We both have different ADHD-struggles and we help each other a lot. For example, I am the worst at getting somewhere on time and I get so much stress of having to cook. But he loves cooking and is not that timeblind, so he makes the meals and cheers me on so I won’t be late for work. I help him by opening his mail and organizing the house a bit, things I don’t have that much trouble with. :) For each couple it is important to discuss who can do what best and how you can help eachother, but maybe for ADHD-couples this is extra important. And also, it’s just accepting the mess as part of your life I guess. In the kitchen we have a little wooden sign saying: a clean kitchen is a sign of a wasted life. That is a reasurring thing to be reminded of and helps to not take life too serious😉

Yup. I have been with my husband for over 20 years. 2 years ago our daughter (now 10) was diagnosed with ADHD, then him and now me. We are a neurodivergent hurricane but there is also a lot of laughter, love, and curiosity. After 45 years of masking, I now understand why he has been the only one in the world to see me. It’s such a struggle to learn acceptance, but my daughter gets to grow up being seen every day and I am proud of that. Sooooo hard, wouldn’t want it any other way.

Yes, I'm married to my husband who is undiagnosed (growing up in a country where ADHD isn't really known) and have 2 children, well teens with ADHD as well. Life truly gets messy and stressful 😅 but in the most beautiful chaotic and fun way. And emotions are always so deep and loud in our home🥰 wouldn't trade it for anything ❤️
