How to explain ADHD

How do you explain the experience of ADHD to neurotypicals in a way they might understand?

I say my brain takes in all the input, sight, Sound, smell, taste, touch. All the time. All of it. And I don’t make enough dopamine which is the neurotransmitter that allows me to decide what input to pay attention to so I split my attention amongst all of it. It’s an attention surplus, not a deficit
