Night Owl or morning joy?

Wondered what the % of people who have ADHD are night owls, and why?

Definitely a night owl. And I struggle so much in the morning trying to make myself get out of bed.

I like it the night time because it’s so peaceful in my house. And no one is asking me a bazillion questions . Even my dog is not following me around. It’s beautiful 🤩

Total night owl, if I go to bed earlier than one in the morning, I consider it and absolute win

Night owl.. for the exact same reason as the previous commentator - absolutely love the calm when the rest of the world (people) are sleeping. Finally some peace.

I am a big night owl I get a huge amount of energy when it comes to late at night as during the morning I have no motivation what so ever to go to work then when I'm there I slowly but surely gain the motivation once I have had a half hour break then once I'm home I end up feeling tired then bam a whole load of energy kicks in and I struggle to sleep

Night owl. I don't know why exactly but I have always assumed it's bc I just don't like being around all of the people in the daytime & constantly feeling like I'm being looked at & judged by everyone all of the time. So id rather just wait it out until night to go out in public when everyone else is already at home & in bed.

Night since early childhood. Also my circadian rhythm operates on a 27 hour day and so I’m always fighting staying up to do more and trying to wind down to sleep. It helps to fly west for a week lol.

I was a night person when younger and I never slept well at night. However now with kids, am a morning person and am exhausted by mid afternoon and could happily go to bed at dinner time. My kids are all night owls though. I wonder if my sleep pattern changed as I needed quiet time to myself to think and focus and the only time I get that is when everyone else is sleeping. Which in my house is early morning to midday.

I read an article somewhere saying that being a night owl is very common among those with adhd - it is caused by a delay of their internal circadian rhythm system.

🦉Night owl... It just happened its own. Starting from primary school years, my sleep schedule started to go out of "normal". Because I was more comfortable... And year by year, I turned into a total night owl (and this was a huge problem due to the school hours etc). Now I am 24 and taking pills for sleep to have a "normal" sleeping pattern. Because life is harder when you are a sleepless-ADHDer.
