Medication >> Anxiety

Hey! I take Vyvanse as needed. Sometimes for whatever reason it triggers anxiety. If I haven’t taken it for a while and then I take it, the anxiety is more likely to happen. I am fairly experienced with med-induced anxiety however, it’s a bit tiring and uncomfortable. I’m wondering if: 1. Does anyone else experience this? 2. Any strategies for feeling anxious in your body? Thanks friends.

I’ve had this on the same and different meds. It’s helpful to have an as needed anxiety med but hard to get. Usually after being on it consistently for me it’s gone away

I've definitely experienced this (took me a month to start taking my antianxiety meds because I was anxious about it lol). Strats that work for me are nerve resets such as splashing cold water on my face or slow breathing. For a long time, I didn't know that when people say "deep breathing" what we should be saying is breath slower. This was a game changer for me personally.

Medicated and unmedicated, accomplishing something that’s been eating at me for awhile is usually how I dupe that anxious/restless feeling for about a day or so. I’m great for procrastinating so there’s usually a lot to choose from 🫠

1. Exercise 2. Enough good sleep 3. Eating when I need to 4. Breathing exercises 5. Self-chat: “this too shall pass”

I totally get this too! The only thing that seems to help is actually knocking some things off my to do list, because procrastination and subsequent overwhelm is what usually triggers the anxiety in the first place. But it can be a vicious cycle. Aside from that, I try doing something small for myself, which usually involves getting some fresh air, taking my dog to the park, maybe getting an iced coffee or tea. A change in environment is key for me.
