FOGGY MOOD

I have come to the definitive conclusion that my mind is incredibly foggy. I frequently find myself unable to think clearly. Would anyone happen to have any advice on how to regain control over this?

If I’m really stuck in a foggy place. I will try to eat some good sour candy or spicy food. It seems to ‘wake up’ that part of my brain.

Something people never talked about with me untill much later in life was that there is more to ADHD then just feeling like a volcano and exploding. There is actually what I like to call Iceberg mode. You shut down. Feel completely unmotivated to do anything. Woe as me ish. The best way to get out of this funk is to find a strategy that works for you. A healthy distraction that turns your mood around. 1. Your favorite song and make it your theme song. 2. An episode of a TV show that makes you laugh. 3. A childhood TV show theme song that used to make you smile Anything to distract yourself from feeling this fog and blah that you are feeling. The hard thing is not getting sucked into our phones which is an easy dopamine.

I sometimes have extreme brain fog. I agree with the comments that suggest making note of the details when it happens: how did you sleep; what did you eat; we hat stressors showed up ... But even with all that, some days it's just a fog and Ii can't understand why. So ask I can give is empathy and the hope that on those days you're fortunate enough to be able to take the day off. If you can't, give yourself grace and be willing to ask for grace from others. Just we explain that today isn't a great day, but you'll have another good day soon!

For me, it was important to pay attention to the contributing factors on the day my brain didn’t seem to be foggy and was functioning in a more optimal matter. I noticed a pattern that the days my mind worked best I would have gotten enough sleep, ate healthier (carbs seem to make me especially foggy), stayed hydrated, and sometimes even exercised. Now I know that these are required for my brain’s optimal performance, it’s just trying to stick with all of that that’s a problem for me.

I'm this way as well and I always get the same answers. I think it comes down to diet for most people. But sometimes that's not the case- I'm still trying to find the answer for me:/

Medication change was the only thing that helped me. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what they have to say? (:

I brain dump everything on something , I use my IPad as my second brain where I write the words to the DETAIL, like im talking to my self , telling myself why it’s important, what could happen etc, and just dump everything there, so I don’t have to rethink it all over again.

Same here, exercising usually helps me but I struggle staying consistent with that too so it’s full circle all over again

I mean, just write down a simple to do list. Have a goal worth attaining. Otherwise, for me, it's like what's the point.
