What's the difference between white, brown and pink noise?

Are they useful for something specific or they're interchangeable? When do you use them? Do they really help?

I’ve never understood the difference, although I can’t stand with white and pink noise 😭 I love brown noise but it’s the only one i actually enjoy

https://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/pink-noise-sleep I Found this article that describes all three. White noise is more for sleep, brown noise can be used for sleep or to calm, and pink noise is for the same but less rough on the ears than brown noise.
