Consistency.

I try so hard to stay motivated. How do you guys stick to your routines consistently? Because I want to start being consistent too but my problem is that I always plan my day and set reminders, only to ignore and cancel the reminder and just ignore or postpone what I said I'd do 😭😭

Things that help me be consistent with routines: -figure out what you want to achieve. Not just a "would be nice“ goal, but a "no alternative“ goal -then think about what you would have to do regularly (or stop doing) to eventually achieve that goal -start with the one or two most important routines, because too much will overwhelm you at the beginning. -these routines are your only priority and there is no alternative but to do them! If you’re looking for excuses, remember why you need to do them. Think about your goal. You will not skip because you will achieve your goal! I think it’s 99% mindset. You have to have a why that is stronger than the little devil on your shoulder that wants you to procrastinate. This was the most amazing game changer for me. And I have been (and still am on things less important to me) a master procrastinator. I know you can do this too - if you need help or accountability, let me know đŸ”„

Also there’s something I heard in a podcast that changed my mindset: categorise these things as Self-Care! Me-Time! Instead of a chore :))

Hello! Like many said: i personally need to listen to my body. Listen to MY needs, MY energy level. Setting small goals. Wanna go to the gym to stay healthy? Don’t plan on going 3 times a week starting now. Try to go once. If you realise you can do more, then adjust. Wanna eat better? Don’t force yourself to eat or drink stuff you don’t really like or you know is too much work, just cause it’s supposed to be healthy. Try to find something different, which is also healthy, but you prefer. And so on
If I wake up in the morning and feel my energy level is hiiiigh, I do sports to release that, instead of tomorrow, like I originally planned it ;)

My experience is that setting goals is the problem, not the solution. Trying to reach something what is not meant for yĂłu. ND people should try to live their own life, not a life what most people think is 'good'.

I think of it as if part of the task is a reward I can enjoy after the task is complete. Example
If I wash my face tonight I GET TO use that special face lotion that makes my face feel amazing and smell good. Try to view the last part of the task as the reward.

I only do one routine at a time and I tell myself that I can't fail once. For example, I wash every evening no matter what happens and what time it is. 4 hours after a night out? I wash. I'm sick? I wash. But I started at a time when it was easy for me, that plays a big role.

What helps me personally is to visualize the goals, not in thought but on a corkboard or on a wall in the kitchen or living room where I cannot avoid it, which helps me fighting back on the negative or frustrated inputs my DMN produces

Make it suit your life and your character. Design your life around your needs combine them with meaningful rewards. Give every task a deadline and listen to your body. I notices in my energy peaks (mornings and evenings) I have it easier to get into flow and be more consistent. Resting in nature in between is giving me so much. I hope anything there is helpful!
