Need Help!

My boss has recently decided that everything is an “excuse.” Example - I was “making excuses” when I said turnout for an outdoor event was low in part because it was 40 degrees and pouring rain. Apparently, if I had “done my job” people would have still come so it was an excuse. But I just started working with the person who does ADA accommodations and I am really afraid that my boss will see those as an “excuse.” Does anyone have ideas on how to frame it so it doesn't seem like that?
