To start a day

I know that the day starts -formaly- at 00 hours. But in my head, in my plans it starts when I need to get going and make things happen. Also called ”morning”, like 5 minutes after the alarm. And it ends at about 01. But of course I’m not the norm. For my sister - who’s a baker - the day starts either 05 (dayshift weeks) or 15 (Nightshift weeks - as she wakes up in the afternoon) Anyhow- one of the things I’m v e r y tired of is ”translating” my reality into other formats. It’s actually exhausting. So how about a new setting. Let everyone ask themselves ”When does my day start?” And as always my inner censor anxiously ask ”Maybe you missed a setting that already exists?” ”Maybe it’s very complicated to do that?”

I really try hard to deconstruct shame as a motivator in the morning. I’m excellent at functioning on shame, but it is so painful. Related to your question: my day starts when I found kindness in my heart to get going without shame.

Hi guys it’s my first day and I’m already seeing positive results I was having the worst day feeling extremely guilty for not doing what I needed to do but this app has helped me with all that I actually got things done guilt is gone and I feel very excited for the future it makes you feel very supported and understood and you don’t have to do it on your own

It could be set to star anytime between 02 and 07. When I’m normally sleeping. The official 00 was chosen due to the fact that the waste majority had finished their day some hours earlier (since it was dark and things one could do was very few) and was sleeping. So the new day could start. But that changed with electricity. My point is that if I could choose a time when I was a sleep for sure the last things I do each night would end the day - instead of landing first.

With ”translating” I mean that I know have my last task/routines of the day at the topp since they är due between 00 and 09. I would prefere to have my morning routine and ”walking the dog” as the days two top ”to does”

👋! We actually have that in settings, but there you can start day not at 00 hours, but also at 01 or 02. If you think your case need more flexibility - let me know and we will work on it! it’s not complicated and it’s normal. Let’s normalise it!
